Selected Federal Regulatory Initiatives
We monitor emerging environmental regulations that may affect DOE operations and projects. When an advance notice of proposed rulemaking (ANPRM) or notice of proposed rulemaking (NPRM) is published in the Federal Register (FR), we solicit comments from Program and Operations Offices, develop our own analysis, and submit a consolidated Departmental response to the regulatory agency. We then act as the lead advocate for DOE's position in interactions with the regulatory agency to ensure that DOE's concerns are considered.
