Step-by-Step Examples |
This section contains step-by-step examples for obtaining various types of information from CAIRS. You may want to print this page to provide guidance while performing the steps. Alternately, you can start the appropriate CAIRS module in a new window by clicking on the hyperlink in the description with the secondary mouse button. This will allow you to easily refer back to this page when performing each of the steps. Examples will be provided for the following processes.
Please note that, in some cases, desired information (e.g., accident rates) can be obtained from various modules and/or reports within CAIRS. The examples that follow use a variety of these approaches to illustrate the use of the different modules, but other approaches may work equally well. Users should be aware that rates that are directly generated by CAIRS are based on summary data that is only updated periodically. This includes rates generated by both the CAIRS STANARD REPORTS and the CAIRS BASIC REPORTS modules. Therefore, rates that may be derived by the user from data obtained from other portions of CAIRS that utilize the raw data, e.g., the CAIRS SEARCH AND DISTRIBUTION module, may differ somewhat from the system generated rates, due to more current data being available.
