Annual DOE Environment, Safety, and Health Conference

Plan now to attend the Annual DOE Environment, Safety, and Health Conference from November 13-17, 1995, in Denver, CO. The theme is "Line Managers - A Vital Link in Environment, Safety and Health."

Like its predecessors, the conference will offer a highly interactive format, fe aturing question and answer sessions with panels of senior DOE line managers, DO E Deputy Assistant Secretaries, and employee representatives; consecutive, multi-presentation breakout sessions; and exhibits and demonstrations. Preconference activities have been expanded to include an occupational medicine meeting and Radiation Protection Workshop, as well as TIS workshops and HAZWOPER refresher training meetings. 1995 Fire Safety Conference

The 1995 Annual DOE/Contractor Fire Safety Conference is scheduled for April 24- 28, 1995, in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. This conference provides a forum for DOE fi re safety professionals to discuss complex-wide issues, such as program manageme nt, emergency response, testing and maintenance, and technology developments.

This year's topics will include privatization of emergency services, recent fire research conducted under EH, fire modeling, recent DOE fire loses, fire safety technology developments, field initiatives, availability of fire protection systems during seismic events, testing and maintenance of fire protection systems, fire department master planning, and the status of pending fire safety criteria.

1995 ORPS Users' Workshop

The 1995 ORPS Users' Workshop will take place concurrently with the Occurrence Reporting Special Interest Group Spring Meeting from April 23-28, 1995, in Charlotte, NC. This hands-on workshop will orient new users and update current users on recent system enhancements. Training topics include ORPS overview, PC ORPS, ORPS access and usage on host computer, Visimage ad hoc reporting, data presentation techniques, noncompliance tracking system, e-mail, host computer communications software, and problem resolution.
