DOE/EH-0521 --- Issue No. 98-5 --- 5/98
WHS Policy Web Site Available
Are you aware of the latest policy requirements? Are you looking
for additional guidance in administering an effective worker safety
and health program? A Worker Health and Safety Policy Web Site was
developed to provide the Department of Energy (DOE) complex online
policy guidance documents, resources, and publications.
This Web Site serves as an online resource for worker protection
and related directives, such as DOE Policy, Orders, Notices, Manuals,
Guides, and Technical Standards. In addition, Federal, DOE and other
Codes of Federal Regulations (CFRs) are just a click away. Regulatory
authority information on external regulatiions and relevant
Memorandums of Understanding are also available.
Posters on Occupational Safety and Health Protection for DOE
Contractor Employees at Government-Owned Contractor-Operated
Facilities and Worker Protection for DOE Contractor Employees,
Draft DOE F 440.1A are found under "Publications," and Draft DOE
F 440.1 may be printed on legal paper.
The Respirator Protection Program Web Site is accessed from the
Policy site. It focuses on the revised Occupational Safety and Health
Administration's respiratory protection standard, 29 CFR 1910.134,
which went into effect on April 8, 1998, with full compliance by
October 5, 1998. The standard, its changes, and how it will impact
the DOE community is addressed.
Visit the Policy Web Site at
http://tis-nt.eh.doe.gov/whs/policy. Your feedback
via"Feedback/Comments" on the Respirator Protection Program page are
welcome.
