Explosives Safety
SAFETY MANAGEMENT PROGRAMS
The Office of Nuclear and Facility Safety Policy is responsible for policy and standards relating to explosives safety. DOE's requirements are in DOE Order 440.1A, Worker Protection Management for DOE Federal and Contractor Employees, and in DOE M 440.1-1A, DOE Explosive Safety Manual. The Office of Nuclear and Facility Safety Policy also manages the DOE Explosives Safety Committee composed of explosives safety experts throughout the DOE community. The Committee produces and maintains the DOE Explosives Safety Manual and interacts with explosives safety experts in other federal agencies.
