FACILITY SAFETY

The Office of Nuclear and Facility Safety Policy is responsible for the development and maintenance of guidance and standards addressing the safety of electrical activities at DOE sites. These efforts are undertaken with the assistance of the DOE Electrical Safety Technical Advisory Committee, a topical committee chartered under the DOE Technical Standards Program. DOE requirements for electrical safety are in DOE Order 440.1A, Worker Protection Management for DOE and Contractor Employees. Additional guidance and standards are provided in the DOE Electrical Safety Handbook, DOE-HDBK-1092-2004.
