RMP Documents

Under the Clean Air Act, EPA has adopted regulations to help prevent accidental releases of hazardous chemicals that have the potential to affect public health and the environment. On May 24, 1996, EPA issued regulations establishing risk management planning (RMP) requirements for facilities that handle, use, produce, or store acutely hazardous substances. These requirements are applicable to federal facilities, and risk management plans are required to be filed for covered installations on or before June 21, 1999.
