Duty Officer, Emergency Management, and Continuity of Operations Programs

Firefighters The Office of Regulatory Liaison manages several collateral duty programs that support the Office of Environment, Safety and Health responsibilities in the wider Departmental emergency response and continuity areas.

  • The EH Duty Officer Program ensures round-the-clock coverage by experienced, knowledgeable personnel for timely notification of emergencies, personnel injuries, or other events throughout the DOE complex.
Firefighters
  • The EH Duty Officer receives timely notifications, gathers additional information when necessary, and passes information to appropriate EH personnel. When the Department assembles an Emergency Management Team at Headquarters, the EH Duty Officer either responds in person or notifies other appropriate EH personnel to report.
  • The Emergency Response program ensures that EH Emergency Response Subject Matter Experts are available to support Departmental response to DOE or other emergencies.
  • The EH Continuity of Operations program ensures that essential EH operations can continue despite natural or man-made disruptions to DOE facilities in the National Capital Region.

For more information on these programs contact:  Earl Hughes.
