Enclosed is a memorandum dated August 28,
2003, from the Deputy Secretary of Energy, establishing a Central Registry for
the long-term maintenance and control of the Safety Analysis Software “toolbox”
codes. The Department has completed the
action required in Commitment 4.2.2 of the Department’s implementation plan
that was developed in response to Recommendation 2002- 1, Quality Assurance for
Safety-Related Software, and we propose closure of this commitment.
