REMS System Information
The REMS System has undergone an extensive redesign effort.
One of the primary objectives of the REMS system redesign effort was to
allow more open access to the data in REMS. This objective resulted in
the development of several modes of accessing the REMS data. These are:
- Published reports (see the new Annual Report)
- Web Page
- REMS Query Software
The system redesign effort focused on allowing a wide audience of users
with various backgrounds and experience to gain access to REMS data. The
result is a system that has multiple pathways into the data. Each pathway
is designed to meet the data needs of the user while requiring the minimum
resources in time, training, and software. Basically, the more detailed
information that the user requires, the more complex the data access becomes,
which requires more resources and user capabilities.
Users are encouraged to seek a pathway of accessing REMS that is comensurate
with their data needs. For most users, the data in the annual report, or
the summary data available using the web page query tool is sufficient.
For those researchers that require more detailed information, contact the DOE REMS Project Officer to discuss obtaining additional radiation exposure data. Access to
this data is restricted by the Privacy Act of 1974 and System of Records #35.
