EFCOG/DOE CHEMICAL MANAGEMENT 2001 WORKSHOP
The Chemical Safety Topical Committee (CSTC) held its fourth annual Joint Energy Facility Contractors Group (EFCOG)/DOE Chemical Management Workshop. The title of this Workshop was "Chemical Management and the Integration of Hazards Analysis at DOE" and focused on comprehensive, cost-effective chemical management and integrated hazard analysis across the DOE Complex.
This year's keynote speaker presented a strategy for developing the next generation of work methods that unite safety with cost reduction within the framework of Integrated Safety Management (ISM). DOE, EFCOG, NRC, and private industry, speakers presented methodologies, tools, and performance measures for use in DOE's management of chemical hazards. Program accomplishments, best practices, lessons learned, training, and the challenges faced by line managers was also addressed during the three days of presentations.
The Workshop's format, included in-person and televideo participation. Televideo participation allows for the greatest participation from across the complex and maximum involvement DOE-wide with two-way remote interaction of presenters and panelists.
