The Chemical Safety Issues Workshop brings together contractor
and DOE line managers responsible for chemical safety, safety professionals
and appropriate representatives from DOE Headquarters, Operations Offices
and Field Offices to identify their common chemical safety needs and issues
and explore ways to resolve them. The workshop will catalyze the formation
of a DOE/contractor Chemical Safety Interest Group (CSIG) that will work
with the newly-formed EFCOG Chemical Safety Subgroup and other interested
individuals and groups to promote long-term, complex-wide communication
and cooperation among the sites so that they may achieve excellence in
chemical safety performance.
1. Establish a DOE/Contractors Chemical Safety Interest Group
2. Identify DOE/Contractor chemical safety needs and concerns
3. Form working groups that will rank the issues identified and take
action to resolve the priority issues
4. Share successes and lessons learned and best practices
5. Enhance chemical safety programs across the DOE
