Material Safety Data Sheets
|
Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDSs) provide workers and emergency personnel with ways for handling and
working with a hazardous substance and other health and safety information.
They will include information such as toxicity, health effects, first
aid, reactivity, storage, disposal, spill/leak procedures, protective
equipment and physical data (such as flash point, boiling point, etc.).
MSDSs are required under OSHA's
Hazard Communication and Process
Safety Management Standards, EPA's
Right-to-Know regulations, DOT's transportation regulations and
other federal and state regulations. They can be obtained from the
manufacturer or distributor of supplied chemicals or through the Internet.
Any MSDS should be as closely matched with the hazardous substance
(such as by name, lot number, serial number, etc.) as possible.
The MSDS Search is dedicated to providing the most comprehensive single source of information related to Material Safety Data Sheets.
