"Maturity Path for Employee Safety Teams"
Battelle Energy Alliance - Idaho National Laboratory
The Maturity Path for Employee Safety Teams is a process for measuring the effectiveness
of your employee safety team [safety committee]. Using practical experience, the scorecard
identifies seventeen (17) elements that are necessary for a team to be successful. It also
provides a description of the four (4) progression steps [Beginning, Improving, Succeeding,
and Leading] for each element.
The scorecard allows the user to rate the 17 elements and come up with an accumulative
score. The scorecard also has a simple map for tracking your progress. Teams are able to
score themselves periodically to ensure they are moving forward or it may help them identify
areas that need additional attention. A team must maintain a score of "51" or above to remain
"Star" quality.
