Welcome

On behalf of the HSS FEOSH Program, I would like to welcome you to the Department of Energy (DOE) Federal Employee Occupational Safety and Health (FEOSH) Program web site--your connection to current safety and health news and issues: Departmental special emphasis initiatives, upcoming activities, resources, contacts, and much, much more!

Federally-mandated by 29 CFR Part 1960, Section 19 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act, and Executive Order 12196, the FEOSH Program serves as DOE's corporate resource working to ensure safe and healthful working conditions for Departmental employees. There are approximately 16,000 DOE Federal employees, dispersed throughout power marketing administrations, the energy technology center, Headquarters, operation and field offices.

The FEOSH Program supports line management through the transfer of pertinent information, guidance, technical expertise and assistance, and program evaluation. The FEOSH Program operates successfully through continued open communication and effective partnerships among management, professionals implementing FEOSH Programs, and labor organizations. We are fundamentally committed to activities that: (1) ensure the safety and health of DOE Federal employees; (2) maintain a strong partnership with Departmental FEOSH Programs, labor organizations, and other Federal agencies; (3) recognize and respond to safety and health concerns; (4) focus on value-added activities; (5) conserve Departmental resources; and (6) build on the experience of others.

Please contact me; David Smith, Manager Federal Employee Occupational Safety and Health Program, Office of Health, Safety and Security, HS-31 Dave Smith.

The FEOSH staff are available to answer your questions and provide guidance related to Federal employee safety and health. Please submit your inquiries to me through the HSS User Support.
